The Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security continues to publish and engage in a wide range of activities on issues at the forefront of Israel’s security agenda. In recent weeks, several contributions have drawn attention:
- Prof. Efraim Inbar analyzed the shifts needed in Israel’s security doctrine in light of the lessons of October 7.
- Yaakov Lappin examined the identity of Syria’s new leader, revealing that despite his efforts to project a pragmatic and inclusive image, he remains a hardline Islamist who cannot be trusted.
- Prof. Hillel Frisch warned of the high price of hostage deals pursued “at any cost.”
- Col. (res.) Dr. Eran Lerman addressed the mounting challenges facing the Iranian regime.
- Dr. Udi Levi, as well as Dr. Pnina Shuker and Dr. Ariel Admoni, explored Qatar’s influence campaigns and their impact on Israel.
- Ari Heistein mapped the expanding ties between the Houthis and terror organizations, while a special webinar featuring Maj. Gen. (res.) Yaakov Amidror, Dr. Uzi Rubin, and Heistein provided an in-depth analysis of the Houthi threat.
- Dr. Hay Eytan Cohen Yanarocak offered a timely breakdown of domestic developments in Turkey following the arrest of Istanbul’s mayor, Ekrem İmamoğlu.
Prof. Inbar and I also took part in a conference on Middle East developments, held at the Italian Senate and organized by the Machiavelli Center.
JISS experts have been active in the media, publishing widely and appearing in interviews—among them Lt. Col. (res.) Daniel Rakov on U.S.–Iran negotiations, and others on the challenge of fighting antisemitism. Many of these appearances can be found on the Institute’s website.
As always, we invite you to engage with our content and share your thoughts.
Wishing you and your families a joyful Passover and a happy spring season,
Brig. Gen. (res.) Yossi Kuperwasser
Head of Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security
